Increase in revenue forecasts
Dell now forecasts revenue of $20 billion for fiscal 2026, a significant revision from an earlier forecast of $15 billion. This change is primarily attributed to the increase in demand for servers optimized for computing AI workloads, and their role in shaping major language models.
Profits adjusted upwards
The company also anticipates adjusted earnings per share of $9.55, up from $9.40 previously. While the third-quarter adjusted earnings forecast is $2.45 per share, it is slightly below estimates of $2.55. However, second-quarter revenue was $29.78 billion, exceeding estimates of $29.17 billion.
Results in Solutions Groups
In the Infrastructure Solutions Group, which includes storage, software, and server offerings, Dell recorded growth of 44%, reaching revenue of $16.80 billion. Meanwhile, the Client Solutions Group, which includes PCs, saw revenue increase 1% to $12.50 billion.
Impact of PC Refresh Cycles
A significant PC refresh cycle is anticipated, reinforced by Microsoft ending support for Windows 10. This is driving users to upgrade their devices to maintain security and access to new features, increasing demand for PC makers such as Dell and HP. HP also beat analysts’ forecasts for its third-quarter revenue, driven by the growing adoption of artificial intelligence PCs and the transition to Windows 11.
