Apple Intelligence revolutionizes the user experience
Waited at the turn on theartificial intelligence, Apple unveiled Apple Intelligence, its generative AI system, during WWDC on June 10. Unlike « AI » which usually stands for « Artificial Intelligence », here AI stands for « Apple Intelligence ». Available for free on iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, this system intends to redefine what users can accomplish with Apple products.
Siri enters a new era
The main improvement brought by Apple Intelligence manifests itself in a more Siri clever and contextual. With advanced language understanding capabilities, Siri becomes more natural and personal. Users will be able to interact with Siri via voice or text and it will be able to perform actions in various applications.
From now on, Siri will be able to understand even if the user stumbles over a few words. It will be able to add addresses to contacts, launch a podcast or provide information such as the arrival time of a flight.
New writing tools
With iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence, users benefit from new tools to improve their writing. These features include:
- Rewrite: Help find the right words for invitations or cover letters.
- Proofread: Check grammar, word choice and sentence structure.
- Summarize: Summarize texts into key points, tables or lists.
The ChatGPT integration also allows users to take advantage of these tools for free.
Creating Genmojis
With iOS 18 it will be possible to create personalized emojis, called Genmojis. Users will be able to generate emojis by simply providing a description, or use photos to create Genmojis that resemble their friends and family.

Image Playground and Smart Reply
iPhone users will be able to create images quickly with the app Image Playground. In addition, the Mail application introduces a « Smart Reply » function allowing you to respond to emails efficiently. This tool will also identify all the questions present in an email to ensure that the user answers them.
Advanced notification management
Apple Intelligence introduces significant improvements to notification management. Users will be able to see key details directly on the lock screen and the most important notifications will appear at the top of the stack. A “Reduce Interruptions” mode will allow you to only receive notifications that require immediate attention.
Local and cloud processing
THE AI features of Apple Intelligence will mainly be processed locally, ensuring better data security and confidentiality. However, queries requiring greater processing power will be executed in the cloud through private servers called « Private Cloud Compute ».
Limited availability
Apple Intelligence will initially be available only in the United States, in English, starting next fall. France and other countries will have to wait until 2025 to access these new features. You will need to have an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, an iPad or a Mac with M1 chip to use Apple Intelligence.
