In an ambitious effort to meet the growing demand for digital skills, Amazon Web Services (AWS) launched a gigantic training program in France aiming to equip 600,000 individuals by 2030 with essential skills in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud And cybersecurity. This project aims to strengthen the country’s technological capabilities while helping Amazon meet its own needs for qualified personnel.
A considerable commitment to digital development
The e-commerce giant, through its subsidiary AWS, is committed to training hundreds of thousands of French people in technological professions. This commitment is part of a larger program to triple educational efforts that began in 2017. By focusing its education on strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud and cybersecurity, Amazon hopes to foster continued innovation and ensure there competitiveness businesses in the context of a rapidly growing digital economy.
Training and reskilling of employees
In parallel with this ambitious program for the public, Amazon will also invest 50 million euros by 2030 for the continuing training of its 22,000 employees in France. The objective is to enable them to acquire skills ranging from diplomas recognized by the State, such as the CAP, to certificates in Generative AI, robotics, or even in network engineering.
Partnerships with academic institutions
To ensure that the training offered remains at the forefront of technological progress, AWS has partnered with computer science schools across France. Thanks to the program “AWS Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance”, students have access to up-to-date training and connections with companies and experts in the sector. This includes the organization of hackatons and of workshops, active means of practical learning.
Access to digital education for all
To democratize access to these skills in high demand, Amazon also provides free online courses through its platform AWS Skill Builders. Beginners can explore the world of technology while seasoned developers and engineers can hone their skills and earn certifications that are popular in the job market. A new certification focused on AI for non-technical profiles will also be launched, consolidating the inclusiveness of this initiative.

By training such a considerable number of French people, AWS is not only seeking to meet the needs of the current economy, but also to preempt future developments.
