Recently, new application frameworks ofartificial intelligence in education have been published, offering clear guidelines on integrating AI into education. The Ministry of National Education has put forward its own framework of use, focusing mainly on the limitation and the protection educational institutions, while the European Commission and the OECD present more ambitious visions. This article explores these models, highlighting the distinction between strict regulation and proactive innovation, and its potential impact on the current educational landscape.

A national framework to regulate the use of AI

The document published by the French Ministry of National Education stands out for its position on the supervision of practices. It emphasizes the need to set boundaries and to recall the prohibitions concerning the use of AI in educational establishments. This approach aims to to reassure educational stakeholders by establishing a clear, although restrictive, framework around the integration of technology.

The predominant aspect of this framework is the prevention of practices deemed inappropriate, such as unauthorized use ofGenerative AI for schoolwork, described here as « fraud. » This perspective reflects a cautious institutional response to a technology perceived as disruptive.
