The second edition of the Artefact AI Film Festival recently crowned its winners, under the presidency of French director C\u00e9dric Klapisch. His approach blends curiosity and caution, while highlighting how AI has sparked a renewed desire for traditional cinema in him. A Curious Perspective Despite Fears Invited to preside over the jury of the Artefact AI Film Festival, C\u00e9dric Klapisch declared himself driven by a \u201ccuriosity\u201d regarding artificial intelligence. Although these technologies are partly unfamiliar to him, the desire to understand how young creators are integrating them into their art motivated him to embark on this adventure. For Klapisch, the emergence of AI brings considerable regulatory challenges. The ethical and political consequences of AI, particularly in the field of dubbing, raise questions about the future of traditional professions and their potential evolution. The Advantages of Artificial Intelligence for Creation While wary of widespread AI adoption, Klapisch acknowledges certain advantages, particularly in the field of post-production.<\/strong> For his film \u00ab\u00a0The Coming of the Future,\u00a0\u00bb he used AI to eliminate city noise and to achieve very precise color grading, which allowed him to recreate realistic colors for a period film. Thus, even unknowingly, AI became integrated into his creative process, enriching the final quality of the work.<\/strong> A Renewed Passion for Cinema<\/strong> Far from accelerating a blind allegiance to AI, Klapisch\u2019s experience at the Artefact AI Film Festival actually rekindled his passion for traditional cinema. He compares the current situation to the arrival of photography in contrast to painting\u2014a transitional period that can inspire new art forms. Faced with these developments, he hopes that filmmakers will be able to invent new ways of creating, without abandoning human reality, embodied by flesh-and-blood actors.<\/p>\n\n
