On May 19, 2025, during the Choose France Summit held in Versailles, Emmanuel Macron announced the creation of Europe\u2019s largest Artificial Intelligence campus in Seine-et-Marne. This ambitious project, with an investment approaching \u20ac50 billion, is expected to be built in Fouju. This village, located in the heart of Brie, will house data centers, high-performance computing infrastructure, as well as facilities dedicated to research and education. This initiative marks a major milestone for the region and for France in the field of AI. Fouju, a small village in the Seine-et-Marne region, is poised to become a major hub for artificial intelligence in Europe. Thanks to an investment of nearly \u20ac50 billion, a gigantic campus dedicated to AI will be built in the Brie des Rivi\u00e8res et Ch\u00e2teaux Community of Communes Business Park. The initiative, announced at the Choose France Summit, aims to strengthen the technological and digital sovereignty of France and Europe. This project, supported by numerous major stakeholders, is expected to begin construction in 2026 and be operational by 2028.<\/strong> A project of national scope<\/p>\n\n

At the Choose France Summit held on May 19, 2025, in Versailles, Emmanuel Macron formalized the creation of a super campus dedicated to artificial intelligence. Planned to be the largest in Europe, this campus will be located in the \u00cele-de-France region and will integrate various components such as data centers, high-performance computing units, as well as research and education infrastructure.Fouju, a village undergoing rapid change<\/strong> According to several media reports, the project will be located in Fouju, near Melun, on a plot of approximately 70 to 80 hectares. This village, although modest with its 630 inhabitants, is ideally located thanks to its proximity to the A5 motorway. Thanks to the revision of the \u00cele-de-France Region\u2019s Environmental Master Plan in 2024, this town is now ready to host a project of this magnitude.A considerable investment in the future<\/strong> The announcement of this project is accompanied by a massive investment estimated at between \u20ac30 and \u20ac50 billion. This project will be led by a joint venture comprising Bpifrance, the UAE-based MGX investment fund, Mistral AI, a company specializing in generative AI, and NVIDIA, a world leader in computing infrastructure for AI. These collaborations aim to create a cutting-edge site facilitating the large-scale adoption of AI in various economic sectors. A strategic step forward for Europe<\/p>\n\n

The future campus aims to achieve an impressive capacity of 1.4 GW and is expected to cover the entire AI lifecycle, from design to practical implementation. Boasting advanced facilities for real-world testing, it will strengthen European digital sovereignty, particularly in critical sectors such as healthcare, mobility, and energy.<\/h2>\n\n

Project planning and supportConstruction work is expected to begin in the second half of 2026, with commissioning expected by 2028. This project, deemed \u00ab\u00a0of major national interest,\u00a0\u00bb will benefit from the support of influential stakeholders such as Bouygues, EDF, RTE, the \u00c9cole Polytechnique, and Sipartech.<\/strong>Territorial impact and outlook For Christian Poteau, president of the Brie des Rivi\u00e8res et Ch\u00e2teaux Community of Communes, this project is a source of great pride that highlights the region\u2019s capabilities and potential. Local elected officials, such as Herv\u00e9 Jeannin, mayor of Crisenoy, see this initiative as a significant development opportunity that will prevent the massive establishment of logistics sites in the surrounding area and encourage a shift toward advanced technologies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
