Parcoursup is enriched with new features
Simplified management of preferred training courses
The Parcoursup site, which plays a key role in the university careers of French high school students by managing post-baccalaureate admissions, recently opened its doors. With the training selection period approaching, scheduled for January 17, future students already have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a refreshed and more user-friendly virtual environment.
- Highlighting choices: Students can now categorize the study options that catch their attention by marking them as “favorites”. This function will simplify the search and organization of desired training courses during the official choice process.
- Custom annotations: Candidates can enhance their selections with personal notes, thus facilitating their reflection and their final choice.
- Scheduled alerts: An alert system informs candidates in advance of open days at the establishments they have preferred, optimizing the planning of their visits.
Course comparison tool
Parcoursup introduces a significant new feature with a tool allowing the simultaneous comparison of different training courses, up to five, similar to what we find in online service comparators. The criteria vary between registration costs, the legal nature of the school (public or private), or even the prestige associated with certain courses. The professional integration rates of training courses such as BTS and professional licenses are also accessible, becoming a major asset for those whose primary goal is post-diploma employability.
Early access for young people
For preparatory purposes, Parcoursup opens its virtual doors to second and first year students. Although they cannot yet submit their wishes, they can now explore the scope of the training offerings, plan for their academic future and register their interests.
Simplification of the motivation procedure
The rigorous selection by the juries of abundant applications has led to a notable development: the request for a cover letter is no longer systematic. Some high-demand training courses may exempt their applicants from this constraint, freeing up time for both parties involved.
Ultimately, Parcoursup asserts itself as an essential link between the academic desires of students and the requirements of higher institutions, while constantly seeking to improve its interface and its services to facilitate this crucial transition.
